Location: New York, NY 10019
Weekly Pay Approx: $1,725.00 - $1,897.50
Shift: 7PM - 7:30am - 3X12
Contract: 3-Month (Possible Extension)
Skills
- NYS RN License
- BLS, CRRN
- Med/Surg
- 2 years rehab & med/surg experience
- Minimum 2 years RN experience
- 1 year travel experience (required for Travel positions; not required for Per Diem)
- EPIC experience highly preferred
- 24 Beds in Unit
PATIENT CARE
- Delivers patient care using the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care and the nursing process based on theory, research, evidence-based practice, and approved standards.
- Assesses and evaluates patient care needs and applies critical thinking in care management.
- Integrates relevant assessment and intervention skills in nursing care delivery.
- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team for plan of care development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Prioritizes patient care including teaching, rounding, coaching, after-hospital care planning, and delegation.
- Educates patients/caregivers on plan of care, transition of care, health promotion, and disease prevention.
- Communicates effectively and professionally with patients, families, and the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team.
- Manages assignments within the Modified Primary Nursing Care Delivery Model and allocates material resources effectively.
PATIENT EXPERIENCE
- Role models Relationship Centered Care through Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, HELP, AM/PM Care, 5-Minute Sit Down, Purposeful Hourly Rounding, Medication Review, Discharge Wrap-Up, and MD/RN collaboration.
- Considers patient values, preferences, cultural diversity, expressed needs, and knowledge in care delivery.
- Establishes and maintains therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
- Uses evidence-based practices to understand patient perceptions of care.
- Initiates service recovery and escalates concerns when needed.
- Demonstrates caring, respect, compassion, empathy, and active listening.
- Supports staff in using evidence-based practices to understand patient perceptions.
- Conducts Purposeful Hourly Rounding (PHR) addressing the 4 Ps.

- Contributes to environment of care supporting clinical colleagues, patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Advances clinical competence from novice to expert.
- Projects a professional image and communicates with caring, respect, compassion, and empathy.
